Code of Conduct

Respect all and treat each other right.

All HackerNest events and venues, both online and offline, are dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, harassment-free experience for everyone. This includes and is not limited to harassment – whether serious, in jest, verbal, physical, or otherwise – around topics such as:

  • level of technical proficiency and expertise
  • gender identity and expression
  • socioeconomic status
  • physical appearance
  • sexual orientation
  • political affiliation
  • nationality
  • education
  • disability
  • ethnicity
  • religion
  • gender
  • race
  • size
  • age

…and other personal and/or professional life choices. We do not tolerate harassment of any kind, in any form.

Unless our initiative is explicitly predicated on themes of health and/or sexuality, sexual language and imagery is generally inappropriate at HackerNest events and venues, both online and offline. This includes and is not limited to communication and content in the context of:

  • attendees, participants, organizers, volunteers, sponsors, mentors, partners, and others
  • hacks, projects, talks, presentations, or demos
  • online, social, and any offline or other media
  • jokes, stories, conversations
  • workshops, training, events

Violation of these incredibly simple, strict edicts may result in sanctions and/or removal from events, forums, groups, or any other associated HackerNest community venues or platforms.

At the end of the day, we’re all in this together, living under billions of stars on a planet spinning into infinity.

  • Respect all and treat each other right.
